Russia – Maslenitsa (Pancake Week)

📝 English Translation:
Pancakes for breakfast and sweet hot tea,
Good-bye to the winter, spring comes with glee!
The sun shines so bright and warm up above,
The festival is here, bringing laughter and love!
Originating as an ancient Slavic spring solstice celebration, Maslenitsa was created to say goodbye to the cold winter snow.
Did You Know? People celebrate by making round, golden pancakes called blini that look just like the warm sun.
Fun Fact: The community builds a giant straw doll to represent winter, which is celebrated as the seasons change!
South Korea – Chuseok (Harvest Festival)

송편을 먹으며 감사를 전해

📝 English Translation:
Wearing our Hanboks, our smiles are so wide,
Chuseok morning arrives with the bright moon outside!
Eating sweet rice cakes, we give thanks today,
Together with family in a happy way!
Chuseok started long ago as a harvest festival during the full moon, where ancient farmers gave thanks to nature for their crops.
Did You Know? Today, millions of families travel back to their hometowns to honor their ancestors and share a massive feast.
Fun Fact: Everyone wears beautiful traditional clothing and eats sweet, colorful rice cakes shaped like half-moons called songpyeon!
