An Introduction!

I've been a digital animator for quite some time. I started with animating images and when I found the enjoyment that I had in creating gnomes I started to write short stories about them. My love for writing these short stories grew and one day I felt a pull towards Native Americans and the Navajo tribe.

The pulling felt like it might have been a past life, but suddenly I was seeing more and more articles and videos on the Native American creations and origin stories sharing knowledge of the universe, the earth, historical accounts about their migration, like the Trail of Tears, although it wasn't the Navajo tribe that experienced this,  and more.

It saddened me to read about The Trail of Tears, and how poorly they were treated. The yearning to learn more about them took a turn when I decided to start writing short stories about them. I turned to Google AI for story ideas and much to my surprise I have already created 12+ short stories and still have more to complete.  You can view all of the stories that I have completed so far by clicking on the Native American Short Stories tab at the top of this webpage. There is a pdf for each story, so please feel free to open and read them.

While in the midst of all these creative activities, I realized that I was experiencing strange things that I couldn’t explain. For example, I started hearing a buzzing sound, sometimes low and other times high. I started Google searching and came across information that it was a Spiritual Awakening. That took me by surprise but then I found a couple of videos on YouTube that confirmed that it was an awakening. I joined a couple of Facebook groups and it felt good to know that I wasn’t losing my mind. So perhaps, it’s now time for me to share my experiences with you and I’ll try my best to educate you from my own personal experiences plus some good information that I can find online. So, let’s begin ……………..

What is a Spiritual Awakening?

According to Google AI, a spiritual awakening is a profound shift in consciousness where you realize you are more than your conditioned thoughts, ego, and physical experiences. It is a realization that fundamentally changes your worldview, often sparking a deeper search for meaning, connection to a higher purpose, and inner peace.

There is a plethora of articles, videos and blogs on the Internet. On a personal level, I have had various experiences in my life, yet I questioned ... did it really happen? Was it real? I can tell you that I had a Near Death Experience (NDE) in my 30s but can't remember the exact age. It didn't happen due to a car accident of any kind, I just got into bed and thought I was falling asleep but my heart stopped beating and I felt myself floating through a black tunnel. It was the most beautiful black that I ever saw. Then I heard the music and I never heard anything so beautiful. I saw the light up ahead and to the right and I started floating to it. My father told me to go back because it wasn't my time yet. Suddenly I felt my body jerking and my heart started beating very fast. I didn't even research this to find out if it was true until many years later, after I also experienced an Out of Body (OBE) experience and 2 visitation dreams from my Mother-in-Law who passed after a massive heart attack.

Since then I've had other experiences but I don't want to make my history take up a full webpage.  I'd prefer to educate you and try to help you understand that if you'd have similar experiences then you might be Spiritually Awakening too. Perhaps this website might help you believe that if you'd have similar experiences then you are Spiritually Awakening too.

How this might relate to Native American philosophies (The Concept of Hózhó).

Hózhó is the most important word in the Navajo language and is loosely translated as peace, balance, beauty and harmony. To be “in Hózhó” is to be at one with and a part of the world around you. It means striving to maintain balance, harmony, and order in all aspects of one's physical, emotional, and spiritual life.

According to Google AI, Hózhó (pronounced hoh-zho) is a foundational philosophical concept in the Diné (Navajo) worldview representing harmony, balance, beauty, and wellness. Far more than physical attractiveness, it describes a state of being in which an individual lives in peace with themselves, their community, and the natural and spiritual worlds.

Understanding this holistic lifeway reveals how the Diné navigate life and heal relationships:

Core Meaning

  • Walking in Beauty: Hózhó is most commonly translated as "walking in beauty". It involves living in a way that creates, pursues, and maintains peace, health, and goodness.

  • Not a Fixed Destination: It is not a static state to be achieved, but rather a dynamic journey that requires constant intention. You move toward or away from Hózhó through your daily choices, thoughts, words, and actions.

  • Interconnectedness: It is deeply holistic. The concept intimately connects personal well-being, ecological stewardship, and cultural resilience.

I think I’ve said enough for now. Please feel free to read the stories. The Reflection Place offers you more detail about how a Spiritual Awakening and the Navajo Concept of Hózhó reflect off each other. The Ancestral Path explains "factual depth" of the Navajo Nation (also known as Diné Bikéyah). It also includes information on the supernatural realm is occupied by the Diyin Dineʼé (translated as the "Holy People"). They are powerful, immortal spiritual beings who can take the form of forces of nature, celestial bodies, plants, animals, or landscape elements. Instead of me offering you details from each other, it's best that you follow along to learn more about them.
